Incredibly interesting and valuable information. Thank you. I also had a quick question having visited quite a few collections recently. We keep our larger grandis in a 3/4 land 1/4 water set-up. I've seen quite a few recently in which the proportions have been reversed. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
Susan

I was wondering how I should set up my grandis also. What size enclosure, indoors? There are 1.2 currently in my collection.

Excellent question Charlie. I'll be in the process of building an indoor enclosure for our 2 adult heosemys grandis soon. Considering the male is getting more and more restless around the female. She'll need places to hide away from him. <g> Well, actually, I think she's enjoying his attention abit. I'm sure there will be days when she'd prefer to be alone.

Martha et al,
My male is 11.5 scl and my females are around nine inches each. Ever since I got the females, although not in his enclosure, he has been escaping. I find him right near the female temporary enclosure which is on the floor. I would like to hear from keepers of this species of the spacing requirements.
Thanks,
Charlie
