I'm excited !

Post by BambooTurtle » Sun Aug 28, 2005 3:57 pm

Thanks for letting me join this group . I hear adult grandis can be aggressive to each other , there's a 4 yr old pair of grandis at a local shop for $450 , unfort one has shell rot or fungus . Can I keep a pair together ? For such a rare turtle , babies sure are cheap at herp shows . And is it true , they love to climb ?

Hi Hissingroach,
It's usually okay to keep a pair of similar size together. There are aggressive individuals that have to be isolated, but this is rare.
If you decide to buy them, I would suggest keeping the one with the shell infection separated from other turtles until it has healed.
I've never heard that they love to climb. If you see turtles climbing all the time, it can be a sign that they're unhappy with their enclosure.
Good luck,
