Extra ESF animals call

The ESF has already placed a call for interested participants, who want to receive Geochelone elegans, Pangshura tecta and Geoclemys hamiltonii.

In addition, the ESF is looking for interested participants for the following species : Astrochelys radiata, Cuora amboinensis kamaroma, Cuora flavomarginata, Cyclemys oldhami, Heosemys grandis, Indotestudo elongata and Mauremys mutica.

If you are interested, consider the following points:
- you have knowledge and if possible experience with the species,
- you have sufficient and adequate accommodation,
- you are aware of possible less good health of the animals,
- as compensation for keeping, caring and possibly breeding with the animals, you have to sign the ESF contract and pay a contribution in the costs of the import in Europe, the certificates for transfers, etc. (See for examples: Guidelines / ESF contracts)

If you are interested in these new species, please mail to the studbook keeper of the species you like to receive or to the the secretary:

Astrochelys radiata: Sune Obsen / Didier Laurent / Henk Zwartepoorte
Cuora amboinensis kamaroma: secretary
Cuora flavomarginata: Fons Bänziger / Mark Klerks
Cyclemys oldhami: secretary
Heosemys grandis: Marnix Friso Hoekstra
Indotestudo elongata: Henk Zwartepoorte

It is no longer possible to apply for this.
4.17.55 grandises were available. The 0.0.55 included females and males, apparently sub-adults.
A member of this forum was interested in 0.0.2 turtles, someone else 1.1, and a British zoo will take an unknown number of grandises as well.
We know from previous shipments that it's always a surprise what we get when we open the boxes from Hong Kong. Applicants have to be prepared for that. In 2010, 1.6 (in the documents) turned out to be 6.1.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this shipment. We cannot help all confiscated turtles, but we can make a difference for the ones that we adopt :)
