For some reason my turtles seem to like stayin in the water A LOT more than on land... I was told as juveniles they swim a lot so I guess it's normal. I setup my tank to be 75% water and 25% land area. So far they rarely come out of the water and usually just relax in the shallow end of the tank under the heat lamp. Even when I feed them worms or veggies they take their food and jump into the water to eat em. Was just wondering if I'm doing this right because I heard they like to be on land, but mine seem to like stayin in the water! haha

I like your pics. It's a very nice setup.
Staying in the shallow part is typical behaviour for juveniles. Adults venture more on land and need a larger land area.
Where did you get these babies from?

I got mine from a local Reptile pet store in Orange County, CA.
I'm planning to get a bigger tank in 2 to 3 years and having 50% water and 50% land area. XD
My tank is 60 gallons atm, I wanna get a 120 gallon or bigger later on!!

Do you suggest I do 75% land 25% water in the future?

What you're planning sounds good, though they may need a larger land area sooner than that.
I suggest a 50%-50% setup for sub-adults and adults, or at least enough space to swim around and enough space to walk around.

oo! ok, im gonna go buy one of those islands i saw at Petco that stick to the inside of the tank. That should give em about another 25% land area to play on
